Gus Tyler was a prolific Air Force F-15 pilot, flying missions during the Gulf War.

Nearly two decades later, he is accused of war crimes committed on the infamous Highway of Death in 1991.

Disgraced, he is put on trial before the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

With the world watching, he is a man under a microscope, trapped in a geopolitical storm.

Faced with a powerful and relentless prosecutor and an international press that declares his guilt before the opening arguments are made, Tyler’s fate seems certain.

But Tyler’s lawyer and his son Jason refuse to give up.

Can Tyler defend his name and defy the court?

To do so he will have to seek justice in the wild and lawless slaughterhouse of the Southern Sudan.

‘A Far Justice’ is an action-packed novel from a master writer of aviation thrillers.

A Far Justice edition by Richard Herman Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I have read several books by this author, all very well written and entertaining. This is his most detailed, sophisticated work, in my opinion, yet interesting and engaging to the point I read most of it on a relaxing Sunday. What a great way to spend a day!
This is one of the most enlightening books I have read.
I might not know a lot about the law, however reading this certainly made me wonder how corrupt some legal entities are.
I had trouble putting this book down.
I read it over 4 days and couldn't help but turn another page.
An enticing piece of writing, I am sure anyone will enjoy earring it.
This book is an excellent, gripping story of corruption and injustice in an international court. The suspense is almost unbearable as the trumped up charges are debated in court. The nail-biting continues up to the very end, making this book hard to put down at the end of a reading session. The action scenes are well done and accurate. Even though 90% of the story takes place in the courtroom, it is a compelling tale that will satisfy even the lawyers in the audience. Anyone who likes a great legal battle against seemingly insurmountable odds, should definitely not miss this one.
This was a great book! The story line is something I could see happening today and that makes this book all the more poignant. If you are worried about a one world court system you have to read this book and see what the effects of that could be on our soldiers. I believe this book points our perfectly how those on the left believe world peace is simply a matter of pretending there is not evil in the world and the catastrophic effects of such thinking. While it is a work of fiction, the writing and story line are done so well you could very believe this is happening today. This is another one of Mr. Herman's "you cannot put it down" books!! A thriller from the first page to the last!
Read this because I like Herman's other books. Disappointed at first because it was different, then realized that it was excellent. A bit hard to credit that any court in the civilized world would operate like this, but apparently this court does exist and it operates on a basis that most of us would abhor. Sadly, there are too many liberals who think that all problems can be solved without violence, that the world has no need of rough men ready to do violence on their behalf (paraphrasing George Orwell) and that the world would be a better place if our warriors were chained up. Just think of the librats who have been screaming about "American Sniper" for example.
Richard Herman moves his telling of an unjust accusation smoothly from the courtroom to the jungle battlefield. Both are life and death scenarios, but at least in the jungle the cards aren't so stacked against survival.
This is probably Richard Herman's best book since Warbirds. The story is about a difficult combat rescue in Darfur Province, Sudan running in parallel with kangaroo court proceedings at the International Criminal Court (ICC) against a retired USAF colonel. The villains are the French and the presiding judge at the ICC trial. The ICC, by the way is real, it has been operating since 2002 with a huge budget and during that time issued nine indictments, at least according to Wikipedia. The Court has been highly politicised and its rules lack the safeguards provided under US and UK law. The US is not a party to the ICC and therefore the ICC has no jurisdiction over US citizens. Dual nationals may be another, complex legal story, and hence the basis for the plot.
The American characters are a little too good to be true, but they are credible enough. There is also a high tech line to the story in the form of artificial intelligence to help the colonel's defense. Improbable as it may sound, it all comes together and this was one of those books I could not put down. In the end, all turns out well, but again, credibly so. This book is a must read, not only as entertainment, but as a serious indictment of the ICC.
